Every element, on the record.

We sent our cookware to an independent laboratory and we're publishing the full report โ€” every measured element, exactly as reported. No rounding in our favour, no claims the numbers don't back.

The samples

Two pieces from our range, off to the lab

We submitted a casserole and a baking tray โ€” the same cast iron that goes into the rest of the range โ€” for chemical analysis and coating measurement.

Chemical composition

What's actually in the iron

Eighteen elements were measured by spectro analysis (ASTM A751, Cl. 9.2.2, Table-2). The honest headline: it's overwhelmingly iron, shaped by carbon and silicon โ€” exactly what cast iron is supposed to be.

Iron (balance) โ€” 93.29%Carbon โ€” 3.52%Silicon โ€” 2.24%Manganese โ€” 0.43%All other elements โ€” 0.52%

Drawn to scale. Iron calculated as the balance of the 18 measured elements.

C3.517%

Carbon

The element that makes cast iron cast iron. Carbon gives the metal its dense, heat-retaining structure โ€” the reason your pot stays hot long after the flame is off.

Si2.238%

Silicon

Carbon's standard partner in cast iron. Silicon helps the molten iron flow and cast cleanly into shape.

Mn0.43%

Manganese

Present in a small, deliberate amount that contributes to the strength and durability of the casting.

0.52%

Trace elements

The remaining fraction of a percent โ€” naturally occurring trace elements, as found in any cast iron.

Surface coating

The coating, measured

Using a digital coating thickness meter, the lab measured an average coating thickness of 331 microns on the black-coated surface โ€” roughly a third of a millimetre of finish fused onto the iron beneath.

That thickness is what stands between the raw casting and your food: it's why the surface cleans easily and why the iron underneath stays protected.

Measured on the black-coated side of the specimen ยท Report โ„–137556, page 2.
